1. Plain-English Summary

Cramapple is built to help AP students study more effectively across any AP subject we support. To do that, we collect and store practice activity, answers, feedback, and related account data.

We keep student learning data protected and use it to operate and improve Cramapple. We may use anonymized or deidentified responses and related signals to make grading, instruction, and recommendations better. We do not sell personal data.

Please do not submit personal information you do not want handled by a study tool, especially in free-response answers, uploads, or feedback fields.

2. Information We Collect

2.3 User-Provided Content

If you submit a question, image, screenshot, document, or other file, we may collect the content of that submission and any text we extract from it.

2.4 Device and Usage Information

We may collect technical information such as:

  • browser or device type;
  • approximate device or session metadata;
  • log data;
  • error reports;
  • analytics events;
  • cookie or similar technology data, where used.

2.5 Payment and Commercial Information

If you buy access or a feature, we may collect commercial information needed to process that purchase, such as transaction status, entitlement status, and billing-related records handled by our payment provider.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • create and manage accounts;
  • authenticate users;
  • deliver instruction, practice, grading, and feedback;
  • save and resume sessions;
  • track progress and recommendations;
  • operate support and account administration;
  • detect abuse, fraud, or security issues;
  • improve grading, instruction, product reliability, and quality control;
  • perform quality assurance, including reviewing responses, grading, and product behavior to find and fix errors;
  • improve and expand our curriculum, content, and instructional materials, including by using student responses, questions, and related submissions;
  • conduct marketing and promotional activities, including communicating about Cramapple and, where appropriate, using content and responses as described in this Policy;
  • comply with legal obligations;
  • send service messages and approved lifecycle communications;
  • process payments and entitlement checks.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage, pixels, and similar identifiers) to operate, secure, and improve Cramapple, and for the purposes described in this Policy. This includes:

  • keeping you signed in and remembering your session;
  • remembering your preferences and onboarding selections;
  • measuring and analyzing how the service is used;
  • performing quality assurance and diagnosing errors;
  • supporting marketing, including measuring the effectiveness of our communications and campaigns;
  • detecting fraud, abuse, and security issues.

Many of these technologies are necessary for the service to function. Others, such as analytics or marketing-related technologies, may be optional where we offer a choice. You can control or limit cookies through your browser settings, but some features of Cramapple may not work correctly if cookies are disabled.

We may also work with third-party analytics and marketing providers that set or read cookies and similar technologies on our behalf. These providers may use that information subject to their own privacy policies.

5. Use of Content, Responses, and Curriculum Improvement

Cramapple is designed to get better when students use it. We may use content you submit — including answers, responses to questions, repair attempts, uploaded materials, feedback, and related learning data — to operate the service and to improve and expand our curriculum, content, and instructional materials.

That may include:

  • training or refining internal evaluation and grading systems;
  • improving grading behavior and instructional recommendations;
  • identifying error patterns and quality issues;
  • testing and calibrating new content or model behavior;
  • marketing and curriculum improvement;
  • creating, expanding, or revising curriculum, practice questions, explanations, and other educational content;
  • using anonymized or deidentified responses for the purposes above.

We may also use content, including responses to questions, in marketing and promotional materials for Cramapple. Where we do so, we aim to use content in an anonymized or deidentified form unless you have separately agreed to be identified (for example, through a testimonial or feature consent). We are not obligated to use any particular submission.

When we say anonymized or deidentified, we mean we aim to remove or separate direct identifiers before using the data for these purposes. We also try to minimize access to personal fields that are not needed for that purpose.

6. What We Do Not Do

We do not sell personal data.

We do not intend to use student learning data to build advertising profiles that expose your private answers or learning records to third parties. Our marketing and curriculum-improvement use of content is described in Sections 3 and 5 above and is intended to be consistent with those limits.

We do not want users to submit personal information in free-response answers, uploads, or feedback fields unless the feature explicitly asks for it.

7. Sharing and Service Providers

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Cramapple, such as:

  • authentication providers;
  • cloud hosting and database providers;
  • storage and processing providers;
  • payment processors;
  • analytics, monitoring, and error-reporting tools;
  • marketing or lifecycle tools for approved service communications;
  • support and communications tools.

These providers may process information on our behalf and only for the services we use them to provide. We try to limit what they receive to the minimum needed for the function.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business transaction involving Cramapple.

8. Public and Shared Content

Some student-submitted questions may be eligible for public, anonymous publication if that feature is enabled and the submission passes the required product checks.

If public publication is enabled:

  • the published content is intended to be anonymous;
  • we try to remove identifying details before publication;
  • publication is separate from private learning use;
  • not every submission will be published;
  • a publication decision may be irreversible once content has been copied or shared by others.

9. Parent and Guardian Features

Future parent or guardian features may show approved aggregate progress information.

If those features exist, they may require:

  • verified relationship;
  • separate access controls;
  • separate consent or notice;
  • additional review of what data can be shown.

Parent or guardian access is not intended to expose the student’s full private conversations unless we clearly say that a specific feature does so.

10. Children and Age-Related Protections

Cramapple is designed primarily for AP students, which means many users will be minors. We are especially careful about children’s privacy.

If you are under 13:

  • do not create an account unless the product explicitly tells you that the required parent or guardian consent has been handled;
  • do not include your real name, school name, contact details, or other identifying information in answers or feedback;
  • do not submit information you do not want processed by the service.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child in a way that is not allowed, we will take steps consistent with applicable law and our operational obligations.

11. Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to:

  • provide the service;
  • maintain history and progress;
  • support safety, audit, and quality review;
  • comply with legal obligations;
  • resolve disputes;
  • enforce agreements.

Some records may be retained in anonymized or deidentified form for improvement, validation, and curriculum-improvement purposes.

12. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system can be perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Your Choices

Depending on the feature and your account type, you may be able to:

  • update profile information;
  • change preferences;
  • save or resume sessions;
  • limit optional communications where available;
  • manage or limit certain cookies and similar technologies through your browser settings, subject to the note in Section 4;
  • stop using the service;
  • request access, deletion, or correction of certain data, subject to applicable law and operational constraints.

If you want to understand your options for a specific feature, contact support.

14. Third-Party Links and Services

Cramapple may use or link to third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not ours.

15. International Use

If you access Cramapple from outside the United States, your information may be processed in other jurisdictions where our service providers or infrastructure operate.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will use a reasonable method to notify users. Continued use after the updated policy takes effect means you accept the changes, to the extent allowed by law.

17. Contact

If you have a privacy question or request, contact the Cramapple team through the support channel listed on the site or in the app.
